Buying Textbooks for the Fun in Learning?

The title says it all, and I’m not kidding.

After seeing the vision of digital textbooks presented at Apple’s Keynote on the 19th, I am seriously considering buying some textbooks in the future for the fun of it.

BUT on a couple conditions:
1. Textbooks are kept at the $14.99 and under price range.
2. The interactivity (HD video, power point, sideshows,HD 3D models, etc) is heavily used in these books.

I have always been the hands on learner…and well, these books have the potential to give me that opportunity. This enables the three most common learning styles a shot at the student: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Another breakthrough that may be overlooked here, is that textbooks can possibly no longer have a negative connotation attached to them.  In the past, the main market for textbooks would be students (duh) The “Fun” factor can be just the thing to open another market. The Average Joe who never wanted to sit in a boring class or buy a clunky 500 page+ book.  Seriously, if I’m interested in these books…who else might be?

Again…I could ramble on and on about this, but the main points to get across are: I’m interested in buying textbooks for the heck of it…because it could be “fun” for the first time, might open up another market, gives all the common learning styles an opportunity to reach out to the reader.
